OY! THE FUR...

AS YOU CAN SEE, THERE IS A LOT OF BAD LOOKING STUFF ON ME....MOMMY DOESN'T REALLY KNOW WHAT TO DO....CAUSE SHE KNOWS I WON'T GO TO A GROOMER....AND THERE ARE GROOMERS THAT COME TO YOUR HOUSE, BUT SHE KNOWS I DON'T LIKE STRANGERS...ESPECIALLY STRANGE MEN....I'LL GO HIDE IN THE CLOSET THE SECOND THAT DOORBELL RINGS AND I DON'T RECOGNIZE THAT SMELL....

SO....SHE HAS BEEN TRYING TO CUT AWAY A LITTLE HERE AND A LITTLE THERE....(SHE IS VERY VERY CAREFUL CAUSE SHE KNOWS IF THAT SCISSORS TOUCHES MY SKIN....HA HA HA....SHE WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO TAKE THE SCISSORS TO ME AGAIN.....AND SHE IS RIGHT...HA HA HA...)

SHE KEEPS SAYIN' TO ME..."IT'S A DILEMMA!" BUT I PRETEND NOT TO KNOW WHAT SHE IS TALKIN' ABOUT....HA HA HA....BUT I KNOW...I TRULY DO KNOW.
SO I STARE AT HER.
HARD.
AND I STARE AND I STARE.
I TRY TO TELL HER IT WILL BE ALRIGHT. I LOOK HER RIGHT IN THE EYES SO SHE WILL GET THAT I'M TRYIN' TO TELL HER SOMETHIN'. AND WHEN I LOOK DEEP INTO HER EYES I VISUALIZE THEM PICTURES I WANT HER TO SEE...YOU KNOW?

HER MIND MUST BE TOO CLUTTERED TO GET WHAT I'M TALKIN ABOUT.

NO MATTER HOW HARD I 'THINK' THESE PICTURES....SHE JUST ISN'T GETTIN' IT. YOU KNOW?

I'M GOING TO TAKE A NAP NOW. THINKIN' WEARS ME OUT, BUT GOOD. YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN?

Stinkey sends his sympathies.. he knows the "matted hair" bit.. he doesn't like the vets either, but once every two years he goes and gets shaved! Once that is done he walks around "king of the jungle" here because they give him, what they call "a lion cut" ..his "mane" is left and tuffs by his feet and tip of his tail..he's also glad to be able to really "feel" being petted when he's shaved.

So, he sympathsizes with you ..he offered to come help pull out the hair matts..but.. well.. you know.. it's kinda personal!

Oh, Sweetie. Brushies leave you all tingly and loved. How could you not like brushies?? You don't like the comb, and you don't like brushies (tried a soft brush???) How about one of those glove things? Then it would be just like mama petties, only with a glove on her that would get rid of some of the loose hair.

Think this brushie thing over. It does make you tingly and it's like a nice rubbie, and and you don't want to be shaved!!!

Sweetie, you are so gorgeous. Too bad your Mom is having such trouble with your fur. Has she tried something that they use on dogs to strip out the excess fur?

Your still a pretty kitty even with the knots. My mama works at a big pet store and she asked me to tell your mama if she has gone to one and bought a special tool type brush that cuts away the mats. She said if you ask them they should know what she is talking about.

Maggie had the same problem. We put on all our armor including big oven mits and covered her head so she would not be quite as hysterical and worked on her knots for about fifteen minutes. She was mad for a while but felt SOOOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER. She even purred at her daddy.

You poor baby! Are you sure you wouldn't let mommy call a groomer to come and take care of those mats?

Sweetie, Tessie tutu and Babs send their sympathies. I spend hours keeping the knots from building up on their armpits. Babs has this weird 'sticky' fur and her ruff keeps getting into her mouth, so I have to take it out and rebrush it because it gets all stringy, which annoys her to no end. Then she has to sleep, too, because being annoyed is very tiring. Just like being beautiful, which I am quite sure you are aware of.
