Raggedy!
I am very raggedy looking these days...my fur is a mess and I don't like my mommy to comb me...cause a lot of times it hurts. Or, I just want to play with that long toothy looking thing...Purrrrr...I know it's my winter fur knotting up cause I'm all bushed up this time of year...but it does seem worse this time....I'm not sure why....I'm not doing anything different than I ever do, you know? It just seems more knottsy and raggedy than I remember it ever being before...

I loves my brushie! Don't you have a brushie???? Combs are hard on furr and human hairs. Brushies are softer and still do a good job. Make your mama buy a nice brushie!
Maybe a hot summer is coming. Lots of my fur is coming off in the brushie!
My furs are coming off efurry where from the warm weather. But mine looks a little wavy like yours do. I tinks I'll have to get my Mom to brush me now too. You still look very pretty though!

You need to think again on the brushie bit. It can be very relaxing. :-) Just think, nice soft strokes, over and over, like rubbies! It also is very calming for beans.
On the other paw, one of the kitties who went before me LIKED being vaccummed by the hose coming from the big bad monster. *shudder*
Mama had a little batrie powered thing that combed and suckied up the hair. Maybe you could find one of them. None of us liked it, though.
Oh, and there are grooming gloves. THAT might work.

Well, as I see it, there are only 2 options available to you. Either let your Mom take care of you, or it's off to the groomer! Me, I'd choose my Mom over the groomer any day.

You are handsome even all ratted up. Mom said maybe try a very teeny tiny bit of olive oil on your Mom's hand an then brush them over your coat. Just a teensy bit. That way if you lick it off it won't hurt you. ~Merlin, Shadow, Ko KO
You are still pretty even though you're fur is ratty. It just makes your nice face stand out more. Mama said you should get some "nair" for your fur.
You are gorgeous!!!! Mom uses a fine toothed flea comb on Shaggy when he gets fur matts. A little at a time gets the job done. Have we told you that you're gorgeous?!?!
Our mom just combs us anyway, sometimes the matted fur comes out in chunks and othertimes it is easier. We are ragdolls so we just tend to sit there on her lap and take it. My sister sits still for the bath too, just cries. I don't. I try to climb out. Once she took me to the vet to get a bath and he put a note in my chart that said "NICHOLAS DOES NOT BATHE WELL!!!" in big letters. How embarrassing!

I have had a few mats lately, as I have a very long thick coat too. I am a very good boy when my mum is grooming me. I even let her comb out tangles and pull hard and I just lie there and purr. She says any other cat she ever had would flinch and scratch at that point, but I am Mr. Relaxed...I just love the attention!
